Full program description
You do not have to complete this entire series to volunteer as an STLP judge. Each training course stands on its own. Choose the event you plan to judge, complete that module, and earn the corresponding Judge Ready recognition.
STLP exists to provide Kentucky students with a large, authentic stage for demonstrating what they can do with technology. Competition gives participation purpose and value, but the score is not the central purpose. The central purpose is to celebrate vibrant learning, student voice, meaningful technology use, and contributions that strengthen schools and communities. A judge is more than a scorekeeper. An STLP judge is a listener, mentor, encourager, and ambassador for student learning. Every student should leave a judging interaction feeling seen, heard, and valued. Feedback should be measured, specific, meaningful, and kind. It should recognize what is working and give students a realistic next step.

The Mindset Connecting Every STLP Event
STLP competitions give student work purpose, audience, urgency, and value. But the real goal is bigger than a score or a trophy. STLP creates a large stage to celebrate what Kentucky students can do with technology to demonstrate learning, strengthen their schools and communities, and show vibrant learning in action.

Important: These courses are foundational, optional preparation. Current-year event training, rubrics, schedules, and instructions from STLP staff or the assigned Challenge/Category Lead always take priority.
