The Kentucky Department of Education’s school district On-Behalf Payment procedures cover the various state agencies who make payments on behalf of school districts for the employer’s portion of Health Benefits, Teachers’ Retirement System (TRS), Technology, and Debt Services. Districts issue federal reimbursement payments to the Kentucky Department of Education (KDE) for the employer’s portion of health benefits that were initially paid by the department for federally funded district employees. This course assists in the understanding and importance of the on-behalf payments and to the critical requirement of ensuring of their accurate reporting for meeting statutory guidelines and maintaining transparency. This course is beneficial if you are new to the process or simply would like a refresher course.
