General Program Information

Change Impact is a social impact consultancy and minority- and woman-owned business (M/WBE). Since launching in April 2017, Change Impact has trained over 50,000 professionals, raised $240 million in multi-year grants for clients, and completed more than 140 strategic projects for partners ranging from start-up non-profits to school districts to international mission-driven companies. Building from experience in the field and research on adult learning and behavior change, Change Impact launched the innovative Change Up Learning equity-driven professional development platform for educators and youth workers in 2021. Change Impact was selected as a "Next 1,000 Honoree" by Forbes Magazine and was named a Semi-Finalist in UPenn's Education Business Plan Competition.

Objectives

Change Impact provides courses through our online training platform, Change Up Learning, where we build our courses on the science of adult learning, behavior change, motivation, and digital engagement. We follow andragogy principles, which emphasize learner involvement, content relevancy, and real-world challenges. Our courses equip educators and youth professionals with strategies to support and engage diverse student populations effectively. This may include culturally responsive curricula, differentiated instruction, equitable social emotional learning tactics, and more strategies that ensure students feel connected to the content. Additionally, our courses guide educators and youth professionals on how to communicate effectively with family members and the community about curriculum and instruction to help students stay engaged in classrooms and learning environments. The Change Up Learning courses support all professionals who work with youth during the school day as well as out of school time programs by providing knowledge of child development, best practices to provide a safe and healthy environment, how to connect and engage with others, how to use data to support youth development and how to structure time spent with youth.
